Our Top 5 Movies About Hypnosis

Coming in at Number 5 is Trance.  2013's movie about A fine art auctioneer who gets mixed up with a gang and joins forces with a hypnotherapist to recover a lost painting. As boundaries between desire, reality and hypnotic suggestion begin to blur the stakes rise faster than anyone could have anticipate.  The movie features James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson, and Vincent Cassel.

At Number 4 is  2004's The Hypnotized - A South Korean movie that  features A psychiatrist who fails to help a mentally ill  patient during her stay in a hospital. The doctor becomes obsessed with his former patient, seeks her on the outside and uses hypnosis to fulfill his sexual desires. Now doesn't that sound like fun.

Number 3 - Dead Again.  1991's all start cast movie that features Kenneth Branagh, Emma Thompson, and Andy Garcia.  This film noir thriller has characters undergoing regressive hypnosis where it is discovered they have a link to a past murder that is surprising.

Number 2 - 1999's Stir of Echo.  At a party Kevin Bacon is hypnotized by his sister-in-law and begins seeing haunting visions of a girl's ghost and a mystery begins to unfold around her. A great movie for 6 degree's of Kevin Bacon.

And at Number 1 - The Manchurian Candidate! The original not the remake. A former Korean War POW is hypnotized and brainwashed by Communists into becoming a political assassin. This is an amazing cast featuring Frank Sinatra, Laurence Harvey, Janet Leigh and Angela Landsbury.  You will never look at Angela Landsbury the same way again, she is a long way from Murder She Wrote.
